But sadly, beign a perfectionist I can never seem to draw Jack to my liking correct? So what happens to Nove when she is sitting through Corpse Bride and can do nothing but doodle Mango? Two months and he was like ALL I coudl draw quite literally. He is my happy stone.
Well, we've all seen me dress Mango up in outfits and put him in scenarios. Because he's plyable, he's awesome because he takes on a lot of my own fun traits, each of my characters take on atleast one thing from me and are an embodiment of it in ways. Mango is through all the things I've done my imagination embodiment. He loves, he is childish, he's sincere but can crack a joke and he likes to dress up.
So here's my beloved Mango, I spent a week or so on this and this earned me the right to apply for a Drawing Workshop in Independence, MO this summer for a month, to which my idol Jesse LaPuma is attending and I cannot wait to see his creations. Hopefully Dustin is going as well.
I wanna be more amazing.
So this was all done with a pen dearest cgad gave me during our visit, I thank you so much for it cgad it really means the world to me to know you gave it up like nothing even though we've been through shit ;3;.
Hrm anyway. Pencil and Hi-Tec C pen. Uh very rough sketch basically just a figure of him crouchign on what originally was a cross.
So MUCH HATCHING AND STUFF LATER, I doodled a skelekitty since I didn't want a ghost cat or dog.
One hand Mang holds a candy cane representing christmastown and a tiny pumpkin representing halloween town.
On a side note I stared for a minute and cracked up at the thought of Kiwi, trying to be coaxed to be Sally and not agreeing at ALL.
my Pumpkin King.
On a COOL AWESOME I HOPE NOTE: I plan on sending this to, well a copy atleast, to Tim Burton when I send a letter one day. I want to write him and tell him how much he's inspired me. If you know anything about me these days it's I love Nazi German history, and TimBurton/Danny Elfman. HECK YEAH BITCHES.
I am commenting because FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU UUUUUUUUUUCK NOVE. I love this. I have not the patience to crosshatch that love-o-ly. AND THE SHADING?! DEAR GOD THE SHAAAAAAAAAADING. ....*humps*
HOLYCARPMUFFINS. You don't post much, but when you do post you NEVER fail to blow me away. This is seriously.... WOW. The detail you put in with that crosshatching is OUTSTANDING. The background looks like it was drawn by Burton himself. I'm not joking. Its just... wow. There's no other work to desribe it. Wow. +Fav x a billion, sweeties!
You always make me like...amaze me with everything you do. Seriously :0
I love how this GLOWS. I love the pencil blending with the cross hatching for that glow.
It's probly one of my fav things about this. It makes it pop right out.
I love how its dark around his eyes <3 and his grin too.
All the highlights everywhere on this look great, and are well done :]
The shading on the stone makes it look so good ;__;~ It actually looks bumpy and not flat.
The fence too. The ridges and everything on it, the detail is wow. I love how it goes off into the distance like I could walk down and thru the BG. Its so well done that it makes you feel like you could actually do it haha.
And the damn cat omg ;__; I love its paws its so cute haha.
THOSE HANDS TOO. The shading and ahhh *loves them* I love the highlights on Mang's shoes <3
He looks great.
I really like the boarder too. Its detailed and awesome.
Ahh you should totally send a copy to Tim Burton!

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
